I found Winner Aviation when I was in the market for my first aircraft, a Twin Commander 840 Jetprop. The seller refused to let me pick my own maintenance firm, and so I had a bit of trepidation at first.
Once I arrived and met Tim Tobey, I realized I was in good hands. Being my first aircraft purchase, I relied on the expertise of Tim and Tom “Woody” Hudak as they showed me the aircraft and we worked through some of the maintenance issues that would be required for me to certify the aircraft under 135 operations. While I was there I felt like a member of the family, every employee was polite and knowledgeable, and Anna made sure there was warm cookies for me everyday, not that I needed them. My visit in Ohio isn’t where it ends! Tim and Woody have been so helpful over the last year with any questions I or my maintenance team has had, and we have relied upon them heavily. Tom or Woody have always been available, even via cell phone or after hours. I only wish Winner wasn’t 2000 miles away from our home base of Reno, Nevada, or they would be my go to for any maintenance issues beyond our startup maintenance shop’s abilities.
I’m happy to give Winner Aviation a ringing endorsement.
After struggling with several shops to solve a poorly performing pressurization system (4.5 at best) we decided to try Winner Aviation. Two days later we had a pressurization system working at 5.1. That was in 2007 and it is still performing at 5.1 today. In 2004 we had a right engine fuel controller failure while flying over Louisiana. Since the shop was not experienced with Commanders and we were AOG it took five days before we were properly rigged and flying again. In 2010 after discussing left engine performance symptoms with Tim Tobey he advised we probably had a fuel controller beginning to fail. I scheduled an appointment to arrive at 9am one morning and was flying away with a perfectly rigged new fuel controller at 4pm that day!!! THESE FOLKS KNOW COMMANDERS!!! They have done upgrades and all scheduled maintenance for us since we discovered them. No one else touches our Commander!
Kingsley, this outstanding employee and the work he does make him an ambassador of [Winner Aviation] ... I can’t believe it still. What an outstanding person – restored my faith in kindness!
Excellent service, always helpful staff and line personnel, super friendly and awesome place! Definitely stop by if you’re flying in the area.
Winner Aviation at the YNG (Youngstown, OH) has taken care of our aircraft for over 20 years now. Winner is the MRO of our preference.
Everything is discussed before mx is started and anything else discovered during the work process is always brought to our attention before proceeding.
Maintenance Supervisor Tim Tobey is the best in the industry. His knowledge and help are unprecedented and he’s available 24/7
All Winner Aviation techs are proficient and friendly and the shop is always clean. We receive a pristine aircraft every time it’s serviced. We can communicate with Winner personnel at all times either at home or on the road. I can highly recommend them.
Very accommodating with great facilities.
The line staff was very helpful, and went the extra mile for us (including washing the windows!).
Very friendly, always accommodating.
Nice facility and free fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! 🙂
Line service was great, CSRs were helpful, and even arranged for a rental, which we didn’t end up needing. Facilities are nice and a great stop.
I have been doing business with Winner maintenance and avionics for many years! Always above average in care for our equipment. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
My experience with the aircraft maintenance department at Winner Aviation, has been top shelf. Rob and Tom both went to great lengths to help us get our P.68 back into service as quickly as possible. They provided clear and concise quotes for the work requested. They then completed the work in exactly the manner they described. I greatly appreciate these guys and will not hesitate to call on Winner Aviation in the future.
I brought in N308GL and the main purpose was to have some touch up paint done. Then that turned into having some inspections done for CAMP. Tim Tobey and his crew took care of all of the above. I have been coming to Winner for years and they never disappoint. I also brought my personal aircraft in for a radio upgrade. They went above and beyond there as well. I am and will remain a loyal customer and will continue to recommend Winner to all of my professional and personal aircraft operators.
I have recommended Winner to other pilots in the past, and will continue to do so. The professionalism of your maintenance team is first rate.
Everybody I come into contact with at Winner is very outgoing and friendly. I can't say that I enjoy going to maintenance since I know there will be an invoice coming along afterward, however they make it as painless as possible.
I've been a Winner customer for over a decade now. I continue to be a fan.
